As an EU Notified Body (NB), the Norwegian Metrology Service (Justervesenet) performs conformity assessment and certification of measuring instruments in accordance with national and international standards. This is a requirement for many instruments before they can be placed on the EU/EEA market. A conformity assessment and sertificates from Justervesenet are accepted throughout the EU/EEA area.
Justervesenet is designated as an EU Notified Body (NB) under the EU Measuring Instruments Directive 2014/32/EU (MID) and the Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Directive 2014/31/EU (NAWID). This means that we are authorized to perform conformity assessments and certifications of measuring instruments before they are placed on the EU/EEA market.
Manufacturers of measuring instruments (e.g., automatic scales, non-automatic scales, fuel dispensers, water meters and electrical energy meters) who wants to place their products on the EU/EEA market.
Justervesenet is accredited according to NS EN ISO/IEC 17065 for certification of products according to EU directive
2014/32/EU (MID) and 2014/31/EU (NAWID).
Recognized Authority – Justervesenet is a national authority with extensive expertise in metrology and certification.
International Validity – Our conformity assessments are accepted throughout the EU/EEA.

Any person or organization can complain or appeal on a service performed by The Norwegian Metrology Service as a notified body.
Any notification shall be handled in a structural and impartial way.
Definitions:
Appeal – Notification from an applicant where the applicant asks for a new assessment for a decision made by The Norwegian Metrology Service as a notified body.
Complaint – Notification of dissatisfaction in connection with an activity performed by The Norwegian Metrology Service as a Notified body, except from appeals, from a person or organization.
