Climate testing of measuring equipment

Since August 2009, the Norwegian Metrology Service has had a climate chamber designed to meet the most common IEC standards for testing under varying environmental conditions. The climate chamber is particularly useful for those requiring type approval or climate testing of electronic equipment. Measuring equipment used in metrology must meet requirements set by international standards. This is essential in order to place products on the market.

Climate chamber for hire for testing measuring equipment

The chamber is an ACS Wazzle WZH30 B2 SP – a so-called walk-in chamber, large enough to enter in order to prepare equipment for testing. It can be regulated in temperature from –40 °C to +80 °C, and in humidity from 10–98% RH for temperatures above 0 °C.

The chamber has a volume of about 30 m³; 2.50 m high, 3.25 m wide and 3.60 m long. Inside the chamber there is a crane that can lift up to 500 kg, making it easier to position large and heavy equipment through the 2 × 2 m door. A lorry can also be driven right up to the chamber.
